F\u00e1th Gy\u00f6rgy 1910-ben sz\u00fcletett a Baranya megyei Erd\u0151sm\u00e1rokon. Gyermekk\u00e9nt a helyi dialektust besz\u00e9lte, az irodalmi n\u00e9metet csak k\u00e9s\u0151bb, \u00f6ner\u0151b\u0151l saj\u00e1t\u00edtotta el. Ahogy a csal\u00e1d \u00f6sszes tagja, \u0151 is f\u00f6ldm\u0171ves volt.\u00a0M\u00e1r tizenh\u00e9t \u00e9ves kor\u00e1ban elkezdett verseket \u00edrni. Tehets\u00e9ge m\u00e1r 1929-ben megmutatkozott, a Bleyer Jakab \u00e1ltal kiadott Sonntagsblattban k\u00e9t verse is megjelent: a Vergissmeinnicht, illetve a Die Heimatglocken.\u00a0Az el\u0171zet\u00e9st k\u00f6vet\u0151en a csal\u00e1d P\u00e9csre k\u00f6lt\u00f6z\u00f6tt, ahol eleinte b\u00e1ny\u00e1szk\u00e9nt, k\u00e9s\u0151bb a helyi \u00e1ramszolg\u00e1ltat\u00f3n\u00e1l, majd a V\u00e1rosi V\u00edzm\u0171vekn\u00e9l dolgozott. Igazi ismerts\u00e9gre az 1970-es \u00e9vekben tett szert. 1973-t\u00f3l rendszeresen publik\u00e1lt a Neue Zeitungban. Versei t\u00f6bb magyarorsz\u00e1gi n\u00e9met antol\u00f3gi\u00e1ban is megjelentek.\u00a0Az 1977-ben kiadott Stockbr\u00fcnnlein c\u00edm\u0171 k\u00f6nyve az els\u0151, magyarorsz\u00e1gi n\u00e9met szerz\u0151t\u0151l n\u00e9met nyelven megjelent \u00f6n\u00e1ll\u00f3 k\u00f6tet volt.
